Newmarket Racecourse

The 1000 and 2000 Guineas is a 2-day event at the weekend at Newmarket Racecourse with the main event on the Saturday being the 2000 Guineas for the mares and the 1000 Guineas being the main event on the Sunday for the fillies.

  • Newmarket Racecourse is 60 miles from London and 12 miles from Cambridge




Race Times

  • First race is at 1:50pm and the last race is at 5:20pm. The event happens in May.





  • Feedback from attendees has shown that the Premier Enclosure is the best rated. It is the best enclosure for views of the racing and the range of bookmakers. The Hyperion Lawn is the preferred enclosure to socialise with friends and enjoy the various activities.




Coach & Minibus Travel

  • Coaches are free to park at the Racecourse on any race day event.
  • The coach enables you to sit down in comfort compared to a busy train where you could be standing.
  • Enables you to stay until the end of the racing without worrying about queues.
  • Drops you outside the racecourse compared to a 20-minute journey on the busy shuttle bus.

  • Smart dress is advised when attending Newmarket Racecourse




Train Stations

  • Newmarket Racecourse offer a shuttle bus to racegoers who have travelled by the train. The stops are at the High Street and the Train Station.




Food and Drink

  • There are a range of food and beverage stalls at the racecourse for the racegoers to enjoy the variety of foods that are available.





  • There are various parking areas around Epsom Racecourse especially at the Rowley Mile. On Derby Day, parking gets very limited due to the number of attendees, so it is easier to travel by coach and being able to park there for free.
